Horasasis talk in Gaziantep

I visited a temporary town that was created in eastern Turkey near the Syrian border in the months after the February earthquake that killed or permanently displaced 10,000 people in this area alone. While there I met Turkish author and journalist Ramazan Tuncer who opened up a photo portrait shop in the temporary town after losing his home and he honored me by gifting and signing some of his books.

The people are living in rows of temporary shelter boxes while trying to continue their educations and doing vocational training programs as they wait for permanent homes to be built by the government. Their original homes were destroyed.

I came here to be a speaker at the #Horasis Global Meeting in #Gaziantep that brought together political and business leaders to help in reconstruction efforts for the city. You may learn more about it at the link below.

If you are interested in investing in businesses in the Gaziantep area or philanthropic energy to help the people in the temporary town please send me a message.

This photograph is of a section of the area that was destroyed that is being preserved for a future memorial museum and entrepreneurship education center.
