Curator for the quarterly MindshareLA event series. I’ve also curated numerous robot themed art shows at the Hive Gallery in Los Angeles such as Robot Dreams, Robot Love, and Robots and Unicorns.

ROBOTICIST

Inventor, co-creator, and contributor to numerous robotics projects which are featured on my robotics works page. 

MUSICIAN

Played bagpipe on the Grammy nominated album ‘Sekou Andrews & The String Theory’ and I train under Aaron Shaw of the Wicked Tinkers.

Trained in bass guitar under Buddy Booker.

WRITER / DIRECTOR / FILMMAKER

Writer/Director of short films and documentaries. Writer of a dozen original feature-length scripts. Under management contract with ScenarioLA

I direct films, documentaries, and live performances. My work includes the film ‘Where the Robot Things Are’ that is a love story between a rat and robot tasked with guiding humans out of landmine field; ‘The Deported Veterans’ is an ongoing series using immersive/360 video to share the stories of American military veterans who have been deported; in Playing with Dolls: A young man and woman play with each others lives through the dolls that are the Sims. ‘Midnight Automaton’ riffs off the ‘Golden Handmaidens’ of Greek mythology and during the performance a dancer playing an automaton distributes plastic roses before being blessed Pinocchio style and she transforms into a tap dancer before returning to her automaton state!

I specialize in card magic and levitation and frequently perform close-up work before and after stage shows at Magicopolis. I train under Reed Harris.

PUPPETEER

Completed a shadow puppet residency culminating in a performance directed by Maria Bodman. Currently training under puppeteer Jared Ramirez out of Jim Henson Studios and Bob Baker Marionette Theater

JOURNALIST

Most recent work was covering the non-violent revolution in Armenia for the LA Review of Books.

Previously worked in East and Central Africa as a photojournalist focused on conflict and refugees for Reuters, the EPA, and the AP

TV PERSONALITY

PUBLIC SPEAKER

Frequently speaks and guest lectures at creative agencies and institutions such as Harvard University, USC, and UCLA.

ACTOR / PERFORMER

In addition to acting, I frequently create new performances and give them in various venues and circles around Los Angeles. Notable examples of this include comedy speeches at Burns Suppers, an original spooky monologue performance that debuted at the Hall of Liberty Theatre, the ‘Jellyfish Prom’ absurdist theatre performance I wrote directed by Kevin Krieger and Claire Tittelman, and playing a giant clown in ‘Killer Klown from Outer Space’ live performances directed by Stephen Chiodo at the Montalban Theatre and other places.

ATHLETE

Following a career becoming a champion and King of chessboxing training sequentially under Jesse Reid, Antoni Hardonk, Lamon Brewster, and Justin Fortune and chess under IM Zhanibek Amanov I shifted focus to international Highland games and strength athletics initially training under Logan Gelbrich. Current athletic quest is to lift the world’s manhood and historic stones in Scotland, Norway, Iceland, and Basque country in Spain while training under John Odden.
